Searching for files

Let’s say you just downloaded some pictures that have been attached to an email, but you don’t know where they are on your computer. You can always do a search for a file if you can’t find it. You can use search to find any file on your computer.

Here are examples of how to search for common file types using the search function on a computer:

1. Search for a Word Document (.docx):
   • Type “*.docx” (without quotes) in the search box to find all Word documents with the .docx extension on your computer.
2. Search for a PDF File (.pdf):
   • Type “*.pdf” (without quotes) in the search box to find all PDF files on your computer.
