Job Summary:
A Caregiver provides compassionate support to individuals who require assistance with daily activities and personal care. This role involves ensuring a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment, focusing on the physical, emotional, and social well-being of the individual.
Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition based on individual needs.
Provide mobility support, including transfers, walking assistance, and ensuring a safe environment.
Administer medications as directed, and keep accurate records of care.
Offer companionship, engage in meaningful activities, and foster emotional support.
Help with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, tidying, and organizing.
Accompany individuals to medical appointments, errands, or social activities.
Monitor changes in physical or emotional health and report to relevant healthcare professionals.
Promote independence by encouraging individuals to engage in daily activities.
Ensure the dignity, respect, and well-being of each individual at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
Compassionate and empathetic approach to care.
Good communication and active listening skills.
Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Basic knowledge of health and safety practices related to caregiving.
Physical ability to assist with mobility and perform caregiving tasks.
Patience, reliability, and attention to detail.
Previous experience in caregiving.
A valid driver’s license.
Working Conditions:
The role may require flexibility in working hours and locations to accommodate individual needs. Caregivers may work in private homes, care facilities, or community environments.
