Employees should have sufficient training in emergency safety practices. Regular safety exercises must be performed, and a fire extinguisher must be accessible and checked to ensure it is in good working order. Fire exit doors must be clear and plainly visible. In the event of an evacuation, you also need to think about the plans for any employees who have a disability or additional risks (such a pregnant employee). In such a situation, a two-way radio device can help with coordination and communication. Additionally, it’s crucial to have a handy list of emergency numbers for the police, ambulance, and fire departments, as well as a safety handbook or notice that instructs personnel on what to do in an emergency.
