Responsibilities:
Unload, load, sort, count, and fold hospital linen.
Operate industrial washing, drying, ironing, and pressing machines.
Iron and press linen using appropriate equipment.
Seal and label linen bags with identification tags.
Maintain cleanliness of the working area and laundry equipment.
Count and record linen received and dispatched.
Deliver clean linen to hospital wards and collect dirty linen.
Follow safety regulations and infection control procedures when handling contaminated linen.
Report damaged linen or faulty equipment to supervisors.
Requirements:
Minimum of Grade 10 or ABET qualification.
Appropriate laundry or hospital environment experience will be an advantage.
Ability to read and write.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
Willing and able to work shifts, including night duty, weekends, and public holidays.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
