Laundry Worker Requirements

Minimum Qualification
- ABET Level 02 or equivalent
- No Matric required
- No tertiary qualification required
Experience

- Understanding of a laundry working environment
- Awareness of basic hygiene and safety procedures

- Read, count, and perform basic numeracy

- Handle pressure in a busy workplace
- Rotate shifts when required
- Perform physical labour
- Wear protective clothing (this is a legal requirement)

Duties and Responsibilities
Laundry Workers are responsible for managing linen used across hospitals and clinics. Daily tasks include:
- Sorting and counting dirty linen from multiple hospitals
- Receiving soiled linen from healthcare facilities
- Operating and assisting with industrial laundry machines
- Washing, drying, and preparing clean linen
- Packing clean linen into bags and trolleys
- Issuing and delivering clean linen to hospitals and clinics
- Cleaning and maintaining the laundry work area
- Performing additional tasks delegated by a supervisor
