Are you a young South African looking for your first job opportunity? TheΒ Eskom Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme 2026Β is now open for applications, offering unemployed youth a chance to gain valuable work experience in the energy sector.
This initiative forms part of a national effort led by the Presidency to tackle youth unemployment and equip young people with practical workplace skills. Eskom is currently recruitingΒ 20 candidatesΒ for YES positions within its Distribution division.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Eskom YES Programme 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Aged between 18 and 34 years
- Must have Grade 12 (Matric)
- Mathematics: Minimum 50% OR Maths Literacy: Minimum 70%
- English: Minimum 60% plus one additional South African language
- Must be currently unemployed
- Must not be studying full-time
- Must not have participated in the YES Programme before
- Must not have been permanently employed by one employer for more than 12 consecutive months
