Applications for the 2025 academic year are now open! If you’re passionate about Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related fields, a bursary from the Western Cape Provincial Treasury could be your ticket to pursuing a tertiary qualification.
About the Programme
Launched in 2008, the Western Cape Provincial Treasury’s bursary programme aims to support students who lack the funds to further their education in critical fields. The initiative focuses on addressing skills shortages in Economics, Accounting, Finance, and Auditing, among other areas.
Available Fields of Study
- Economics
- Finance
- Accounting & Auditing
- Supply Chain Management
- Built Environment and Project Management (preferably Construction Economics/Management, Population Studies, Transport Economics, or related courses)
- Information Sciences, Data Science, and Statistics
Requirements for Full-Time Bursaries
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen residing in the Western Cape.
- Age: Between 17 and 35 years old.
- Academic Performance: Obtained an average of 65% or higher for the previous year of study at high school or university.
- Funding Status: Not in receipt of any other bursaries or state funding.
- Postgraduate Applicants: Must have already obtained a B. Degree within one or more of the targeted fields of study and can still apply for a bursary.
