National Arts Council South Africa (NAC) Local Block Bursary Funding Call 2024
The National Arts Council South Africa (NAC) is excited to announce the Local Block Bursary Funding Call for the 2024 academic year. This initiative supports the development of the arts by providing bursaries to aspiring arts practitioners, enabling them to acquire relevant arts qualifications and enhance their arts-related knowledge and skills.
The NAC’s strategy focuses on capacity building to ensure excellence in the arts, offering grants for bursaries and residency programs. This support is crucial for nurturing the talent of students, art practitioners, art technicians, arts administrators, and other industry-related professionals, ensuring a sustainable pool of talented artists and leaders in South Africa.
Applications are now open for Block Institutional Bursaries for undergraduate students studying in South Africa during 2024. Education and training institutions involved in fields such as theatre, dance, crafts, literature, multidiscipline, music, visual arts, cultural policy, arts management, and any arts-related course are encouraged to apply. Institutions selected for funding must support undergraduate students throughout their studies, subject to successful completion each year, and must enter into a service-level agreement with the NAC. Priority should be given to women and individuals living with disabilities in the selection process.
Please note that late and incomplete applications will not be considered. To apply, institutions must register and complete the online application form at https://nac.praxisgms.co.za/.
