How and Where to Apply
All applicants may obtain a KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health Bursary Application Form from the nearest Government Hospital, Human Resource Department, to where your family home is in KwaZulu-Natal.
To apply for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health Bursary, follow these steps:
- Obtain the Application Form:
- Collect the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health Bursary Application Form from the nearest Government Hospital’s Human Resource Department located in your family home area in KwaZulu-Natal.
- Note: Do not go to the Government Hospital nearest to your university, as it may not be your home town.
- Complete and Return the Form:
- You or a family member must sign for and collect the application form.
- Return the fully completed form to the same Government Hospital from which it was collected.
Who Can Apply
- Fields of Study:
- A poster advertising the KZN Department of Health’s Bursary Program will be displayed at all Provincial Hospitals, Clinics, Municipal Offices, and online. It will outline the fields of study or scarce skills required by the KZN Department of Health.
- Ensure that your degree or diploma aligns with the fields advertised on the poster for your district.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant must be a resident of KwaZulu-Natal.
- The applicant must have a good academic record.
- The applicant must provide proof of application or registration at a tertiary institution.
- The applicant must not be receiving another bursary.
- The student must not hold another degree or diploma.
Financial Support
Bursary recommendations will be made on a sliding scale based on parents’ income:
- R0 – R120,000: Tuition, Meals, Books, Accommodation
- R121,000 – R150,000: Tuition, Meals, Accommodation
- R151,000 – R200,000: Tuition, Accommodation, Books
- R201,000 – R250,000: Tuition, Accommodation
- R251,000 – R300,000: Tuition Only
