Job Description
As a helpdesk support officer, you will be responsible for providing first-line technical and user support to assist staff or customers with system, software, and service-related issues. You will ensure requests are handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with service standards.
Responsibilities
- Respond to helpdesk requests via phone, email, or ticketing systems
- Provide first-line technical and user support
- Log, track, and update support tickets accurately
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, or access issues
- Provide clear guidance and follow-up to users
- Escalate unresolved or complex issues to higher-level support
- Maintain accurate records of support interactions
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric is required
- Previous helpdesk, IT support, or customer support experience is an advantage
- Basic computer literacy and understanding of common software
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet response targets
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
