Job Type: 6-month contract

SANParks vacancies currently exist for the Armed Field Guards within Mokala National Park. The above stated position is a fixed term contract up to the end of 31 March 2026 renewable by mutual agreement and further funding.

The total remuneration package is a basic salary as per Expanded Public Works Program rates of R311.00 per day. The successful candidate will report to the relevant Project Manager (BSP).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Firearm documentation required:
  • Firearm competency – Self Loading Rifle (Unit standards 117705, 119650 and 123511) Self-loading Rifle.
  • No criminal record (valid SAPS Clearance certificate to be submitted as part of application)
  • Proof of residence.
  • Must have done a Basic Field Ranger course.
  • Understanding the Basic principles of Health & Safety (Health & Safety level 1).
  • Ability to do long and extended patrols under difficult conditions.
  • Physically fit & passionate about conservation, biodiversity, and people.
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness.
  • Candidates must have basic understanding, preferable with experience, of Field Ranger duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Undertaking routine patrols by means of foot or vehicle.
  • Protecting/Guarding of teams consisting of 12 Participants.
  • Assisting with area integrity management.
  • Execute anti-poaching operations.
  • Enforcing law, order, and discipline through NEMA.
  • Ensure accurate records of incidents or sightings are kept.
  • Assisting with various Conservation related activities (such as Alien Plant Control, monitoring, etc.)

Downloading Certificates

You must be logged in and finished a course. To download a certificate on EduCourse, you have two easy options.

  1. You can download it from the completed course page itself.
  2. You can also access your certificates by going to the menu, choosing Academic Records, and then selecting

    My Certificates
    .

To access your certificate, click the certificate icon.

On the certificate page, you can click the certificate preview to download it or scroll down and click Download PDF.

How to Update Certificate Name?

To update your name on EduCourse, you must first be logged in to your account.

  1. Go to My Details from the menu.
  2. Edit your name in the profile section.
  3. Click Update to save your changes.

After updating your name, you can re-download your certificate with the corrected details.

How to Verify a Certificate?

There are multiple ways to verify an EduCourse certificate.

1. Scan the QR Code

The easiest way to verify a certificate is to scan the QR code displayed on the certificate using your mobile device.

 

2. Verify Online

You can also verify a certificate online by visiting:

Enter either:

  • The user's South African I.D Number
  • Or the Certificate ID Number

The system will display matching certificate records if available.
