Purpose of the Programme (What You’ll Actually Be Trained To Do)

This is not classroom-only learning. The Toyota Production Learner Maintenance Programme is a practical learnership designed to equip learners with core manufacturing and maintenance skills required in real production environments.

During the programme, learners will receive structured training in:

Core Training Areas

  • Working effectively in a team-based production environment
  • Safety training and correct use of hand tools
  • Assembly and manufacturing drawing interpretation
  • Marking-off and welding basics
  • Operating and monitoring production machines
  • Surface preparation techniques
  • Fire fighting and workplace emergency response
  • Operations, packaging, and dispatch of manufactured products

By the end of the programme, learners will understand how a modern automotive factory operates from start to finish.

Qualifications & Experience Required

To be considered, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

Minimum Requirements

  • National Technical Certificate (N3 – N6)
    OR
  • Matric / Technical Matric with:
    • Mathematics
    • Physical Science or Engineering Science
      PLUS one or more of the following subjects:
    • Electrical Trade Theory
    • Mechanical Trade Theory
    • Motor Trade Theory
    • Mechanical Drawing
    • Graphical Design

Important: This programme is specifically aimed at unemployed candidates, so currently employed individuals may not be prioritised.
