Purpose of the Programme (What You’ll Actually Be Trained To Do)
This is not classroom-only learning. The Toyota Production Learner Maintenance Programme is a practical learnership designed to equip learners with core manufacturing and maintenance skills required in real production environments.
During the programme, learners will receive structured training in:
Core Training Areas
- Working effectively in a team-based production environment
- Safety training and correct use of hand tools
- Assembly and manufacturing drawing interpretation
- Marking-off and welding basics
- Operating and monitoring production machines
- Surface preparation techniques
- Fire fighting and workplace emergency response
- Operations, packaging, and dispatch of manufactured products
By the end of the programme, learners will understand how a modern automotive factory operates from start to finish.
Qualifications & Experience Required
To be considered, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Minimum Requirements
- National Technical Certificate (N3 – N6)
OR - Matric / Technical Matric with:
- Mathematics
- Physical Science or Engineering Science
PLUS one or more of the following subjects: - Electrical Trade Theory
- Mechanical Trade Theory
- Motor Trade Theory
- Mechanical Drawing
- Graphical Design
Important: This programme is specifically aimed at unemployed candidates, so currently employed individuals may not be prioritised.
