Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Grants Administrator, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Grant Customer Care Services
You will act as the first point of contact for grant applicants and beneficiaries, providing accurate information and guidance on:

- Status of existing grants

- Screening and Capturing Grant Applications
You will be responsible for:

- Medical Bookings and Assessments
For grants that require medical verification (such as disability grants), you will:
- Arrange medical bookings
- Administer assessment documentation
- Ensure compliance with policy and procedures
- Off-Site Grant Application Services
SASSA often delivers outreach services to communities that struggle to access offices. You may be required to:
- Assist with off-site grant application campaigns
- Support mobile service units
- Work in community halls, clinics, or rural areas
- Scanning and Batching of Grant Files
Administrative accuracy continues behind the scenes. You will:
- Scan grant documents
- Batch and file applications correctly

Minimum Requirements: Do You Qualify?
To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Educational Qualification
An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) recognised by SAQA in one of the following fields:
- Public Administration
- Business Administration
- Economics
- Development Studies
- Finance
- Accounting
- Commerce
- Social Sciences
- Social Security
TVET or private college qualifications must also be SAQA-recognised at NQF Level 6.
Computer Literacy
Basic to intermediate computer skills are essential, including:
- Data capturing
- Working with internal systems
- MS Office (Word, Excel, email)
