Risk assessment involves evaluating the likelihood and severity of harm from those hazards, based on factors such as the frequency and duration of exposure, the level of exposure, and the potential consequences of exposure. For example, a risk assessment might involve evaluating the risk of injury from working at height, based on factors such as the height of the work area, the type of equipment being used, and the experience and training of the worker.
