Job Summary:
The Warehouse Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that inventory is well-organized, and shipments are accurately processed. This role includes receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, as well as maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to perform physical tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:
Receiving Goods: Unload deliveries, check goods received against delivery notes or purchase orders, and report any discrepancies or damaged items to the supervisor.
Inventory Management: Organize and store goods in designated areas, ensuring that inventory is properly labeled and easily accessible.
Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer requirements and shipping schedules.
Quality Control: Inspect goods for quality and accuracy before dispatch, ensuring they meet company standards.
Stock Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment to maintain adequate stock levels.
Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including sweeping, removing debris, and disposing of waste materials properly.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Manager.
Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate records for inventory, receiving, and shipping activities.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse staff and departments to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.
Customer Service: Assist with customer inquiries regarding order status, delivery schedules, and product availability.

Qualifications:
Education: Grade 12. Additional training in warehousing or logistics is an advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.

Skills:
Basic understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to [weight limit].
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and completing documentation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with warehouse software or systems is a plus.
