Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. This role includes processing shipments, receiving incoming goods, verifying the accuracy of orders, and maintaining records of all transactions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling the physical demands of the job.

Responsibilities:
Shipping: Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and documentation. Ensure that shipments are accurate and meet the specified deadlines.
Receiving: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips. Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the supervisor.
Inventory Management: Update inventory records for received and shipped goods. Ensure that all inventory is stored properly and in the correct locations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including bills of lading, packing lists, and inventory logs.
Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on received goods to ensure they meet the required standards. Report any issues or defects to the appropriate department.
Coordination: Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure the smooth flow of goods. Schedule pickups and deliveries as needed.
Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and store goods safely.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all shipping and receiving areas are free of clutter and hazards.
Customer Service: Assist with customer inquiries related to shipping and receiving, providing accurate information and resolving any issues.

Qualifications:
Education: Grade 12. Additional training or certification in logistics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse role. Experience with inventory management systems is a plus.

Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Proficiency in using shipping software and inventory management systems.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a warehouse environment.
