I thought Alison was free. Why do I have to pay?

All Alison courses are completely free to study and complete. You can choose to pay to upgrade your Alison account to our Premium Monthly package.

Premium Monthly is an optional, paid-for subscription service that allows you to access more features on Alison.

What is Alison Premium Monthly?

Alison Premium Monthly is a monthly subscription service that allows you to upgrade your standard free Alison account to access our premium-range services. For a monthly subscription fee of €7.99 per month, Premium Monthly allows you to study 1000+ courses with absolutely no advertisements and also gives you exclusive monthly discounts that you can use towards any Certificate or Diploma available to you. In addition, you also get full access to templates in Alison’s CV Builder.

How much does Premium Monthly cost?

Premium Monthly costs €7.99 per month, which will be taken monthly from the payment method you provided when you subscribed.

How can I cancel my subscription?

With Premium Monthly, there is no minimum term, so you can cancel anytime. If you cancel your subscription, you will still receive the benefits that you have paid for until your subscription renewal date. On cancellation, you will receive an email confirming the date until which you can enjoy the Premium Monthly benefits.

 

To cancel your Premium Monthly subscription, please follow the below instructions:

      • Login to your Alison Account
      • Go to your Profile
      • Select Accounts Settings
      • Select Cancel Premium Membership

What do I get as a Premium Monthly subscriber?

For each month that you have successfully paid to subscribe to Premium Monthly, you can enjoy the following benefits:

 

      • Experience ad-free learning

 

All Alison learners can access our 1000+ courses for free, but Premium Monthly subscribers can enjoy an ads-free learning experience, throughout every course and the entire Alison site. No ads means no waiting and no distractions while learning.

 

      • Receive monthly discounts

 

As a Premium Monthly subscriber, you will receive a 10% discount for every month that you are subscribed. Your 10% discount is automatically added to your Alison account each month after your subscription payment has been successful. You can view all your available discounts in your Dashboard anytime.

 

Your 10% discount can be applied in the Alison Shop when you purchase any Certificate or Diploma available to you (for any course you have completed).

 

      • Accumulate your discounts and get up to 50% off<

 

When you receive your 10% discount, you can choose to redeem it with any purchase of a Certificate or Diploma available to you, or you can keep the discount and not use it straight away. For each month you choose to keep your discount (not redeem it), it will add up and you can redeem them together to purchase any one product available to you. For example,  if you keep your discounts for 3 months, you can get 30% off any one product, or if you keep your discounts for 5 months, you can get 50% off any one product (Certificate OR Diploma) available to you. The maximum discount that can be applied to any one product is 50%.

 

      • Use your discounts whenever you’d like

 

The discounts you receive as a Premium Monthly subscriber will never expire, so you can use it anytime. Even if you choose to cancel your subscription, you will never lose the discounts you received as a Premium Monthly subscriber, which you haven’t yet redeemed.

 

      • Full access to Resume Builder features

 

As an Alison Premium Monthly subscriber, you have full access to all features in the Resume Builder. This includes all Resume Templates and fonts that you can use to build your resume.

 

      • Cancel anytime

 

With Alison Premium Monthly, there is no minimum term, so you can cancel your subscription anytime. If you cancel your subscription, you can still enjoy the benefits of being a Premium Monthly subscriber until the end of your current billing cycle, i.e. for the rest of the month that you have already paid. When you cancel, you will receive an email confirming the cancellation, and the date you can enjoy benefits until.

What do you mean by ads-free?

Alison features online advertisements both on the website and in our courses. With Premium Monthly, you get uninterrupted, ad-free learning! This means you can enrol, study and complete courses without the distraction of any ads.

What date will I be billed every month?

Your subscription will automatically renew each month on the same date that you successfully subscribe to Premium Monthly. To view your renewal date, please go to your Dashboard.

What happens after I cancel my subscription?

If you cancel your Premium Monthly subscription, you will receive an email confirming the cancellation. At this time, we will remove your payment details from our system, so that you are not automatically charged on your renewal date. Your renewal date is the date that you first subscribed to Premium Monthly. You will still receive the benefits of Premium Monthly for the remaining period of your billing cycle, ie. until your subscription renewal date. If you would like to resubscribe, you can do so through your Dashboard or the Alison Shop after your renewal date.

What are my payment options for a Premium Monthly subscription?

You can subscribe to Premium Monthly at any time, through the Alison Shop or your Dashboard. We have a number of approved payment methods available:

 

      • Credit/ Debit Card (Facilitated by Stripe)
      • *Paypal

 

*If Paypal is operational in your country.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my subscription?

There is no option to avail of a refund for the month you have paid for Premium Monthly as per our Terms and Conditions agreed upon when you signed up for Premium Monthly.

How does the monthly discount work?

As a Premium Monthly subscriber, you will receive a 10% discount for every month that you are subscribed. Your 10% discount is automatically added to your Alison account for each month that your subscription payment has been successful. You can view all your available discounts in your Dashboard.

Your 10% discount can be applied to any one product at a time in the Alison Shop when you purchase any Certificate or Diploma available to you (for any course you have completed).

You can also keep your discount (not use it straight away), and when you earn more discounts, increase how much you could save.

For example, if you keep your discounts for 3 months, you can then avail of a 30% discount off any one product (Certificate OR Diploma) available to you.

For example, if you keep your discounts for 5 months, you can then avail of a 50% discount off any one product (Certificate OR Diploma) available to you.

Please note: the maximum discount you can apply to any one product is 50%.

The discounts you receive as a Premium Monthly subscriber will never expire, so you can use it anytime. Even if you choose to cancel your subscription, you will never lose the discounts you received as a Premium Monthly subscriber, which you haven’t yet redeemed.

How do I update my payment information?

To change your payment information linked to your Premium Monthly subscription, you will need to cancel your subscription and resubscribe with the updated information.

If you cancel in the middle of your billing cycle, the cancellation will not fully complete until the end of that billing cycle, and you will be unable to restart your subscription until the end of the cycle.

I’ve signed up to Premium Monthly. When do I start getting my benefits?

You can start enjoying the benefits of Premium Monthly as soon as you have successfully subscribed (you will receive an email confirming your successful subscription). On successful subscription, your monthly discount is automatically applied to your Alison account and you can view all available discounts in your Dashboard anytime. Your ads-free learning experience begins as soon as you have successfully subscribed. In addition, you can access all features on the Alison Resume Builder, including various templates and fonts.

What happens if there is an issue with my monthly payment?

As a Premium Monthly subscriber, you are automatically billed each month on the same date that you subscribed. If there is an issue with your monthly payment, you will receive an email confirming that your subscription has been cancelled. If you would like to continue being a subscriber, you can resubscribe through your Dashboard or the Alison Shop.

How do I change my billing date?

To change your billing date, you will need to cancel your Premium Monthly subscription and resubscribe on the date you would like to be billed on. If you cancel before the end of your current billing cycle, the cancellation will not fully complete until the end of that billing cycle, and you will be unable to resubscribe until the end of the cycle.

When you are logged in to the Alison site, you can view your subscription history by going to your Dashboard.

How often do I have to pay for Premium Monthly?

Alison Premium Monthly is charged on a monthly basis. Your monthly payment will be automatically deducted from the payment details you provided when you subscribed on the same date every month from when you first paid to upgrade your Alison account.
