Job Summary:
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing and managing employee payroll data to ensure timely and accurate payment of wages. This role involves collecting timesheets, calculating wages, addressing payroll discrepancies, and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Collect, review, and verify timesheets and attendance records to ensure accurate payment calculations.
Wage Calculation: Calculate employee wages based on hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Data Entry: Enter and maintain employee payroll information in the payroll system, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
Payroll Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues promptly. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.
Compliance: Ensure payroll procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions, and tax information.
Reporting: Generate payroll reports for management and finance departments, providing insights into payroll expenses and trends.
Payroll Adjustments: Process payroll adjustments such as retroactive pay, salary increases, and deductions, and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Benefits Administration: Assist in managing employee benefits, including deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.

Qualifications:
Education: Grade 12; associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field wikk be an advantage.
Experience: Previous experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role preferred.


Skills:
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
