Job Description:
A Code 10 Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods, materials, or passengers using vehicles that require a Code 10 (C1) driver’s license. The primary duties include driving, vehicle maintenance, and ensuring compliance with road safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Driving and Delivery: Safely operate a Code 10 vehicle to transport goods, materials, or passengers to designated locations on time and according to the assigned schedule.
Route Planning: Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries or pickups, considering traffic conditions and weather.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance of the vehicle, including checking oil, water, tires, and brakes, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good working condition.
Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to safety, driving, and delivery protocols.
Loading and Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring the correct items are transported and that they are securely packed and handled with care to prevent damage.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or issues that arise during the trip.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, suppliers, or passengers, providing assistance and answering any queries.
Incident Reporting: Report any accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle promptly to the relevant authorities and management.
Job Requirements:
License: Valid Code 10 (C1) driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) if transporting passengers or hazardous materials.
Experience: Previous experience as a driver is preferred, especially in driving vehicles requiring a Code 10 license.
Skills: Good driving skills, knowledge of local traffic laws and routes, and basic vehicle maintenance skills.
Personal Attributes: Punctual, reliable, responsible, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Good communication skills are also important.
