Job Overview:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for the company by managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. This role involves handling sensitive financial data, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing detailed financial reports. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and bank statements.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage the processing of incoming and outgoing payments, ensuring that invoices are issued, received, and paid in a timely manner.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile all bank accounts and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in the financial system.
Payroll Processing: Prepare and process payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions, and timely distribution of paychecks.
Financial Reporting: Generate and prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, for management review.
Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, identifying areas of overspending or underspending, and providing recommendations for adjustments.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax regulations by preparing and filing tax returns, as well as assisting with tax audits when necessary.
Expense Tracking: Monitor and record company expenses, ensuring they are in line with the budget and properly categorized for tax purposes.
General Ledger Maintenance: Update and maintain the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded correctly and consistently.
Audit Preparation: Assist with the preparation of documents and reports required for internal and external audits.
Financial Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies, providing insights to management for decision-making.
Confidentiality: Handle all financial information with the utmost confidentiality, ensuring that sensitive data is protected at all times.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; a bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related role.

Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data.
Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
