Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and energetic Activities Coordinator to join our team at a care centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and organizing engaging activities and events that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for our residents.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and implement a diverse range of recreational activities for residents
Tailor activities to meet the varying needs, abilities, and interests of residents
Coordinate group activities, social events, and special outings for residents
Encourage resident participation in activities and provide individual support as needed
Collaborate with other staff to ensure activities align with the residents’ care plans
Keep accurate records of resident participation and report on the effectiveness of activities
Maintain and manage supplies and equipment necessary for activities
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations
Communicate regularly with residents, families, and caregivers to gather feedback and suggestions
Assist in creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere within the care centre
Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent
CPR/First Aid Certification will be an advantage
Previous experience in activity coordination, preferably within an elderly care or healthcare setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Creativity and ability to motivate and engage elderly residents
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in MS Office
A positive, patient, and empathetic attitude towards elderly individuals
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols
