Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collections. This role involves monitoring accounts, resolving discrepancies, and working closely with customers to ensure smooth and efficient payment processes. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a good understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:
Payment Processing: Record and process incoming payments from customers in a timely and accurate manner.
Invoice Management: Generate and send invoices to customers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and terms.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable balances to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies or issues with customer accounts.
Collections: Follow up on overdue accounts, send reminders, and communicate with customers to facilitate timely payments. Develop and implement effective collection strategies.
Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries and provide assistance with billing issues, account statements, and payment processing. Maintain positive customer relationships.
Reporting: Prepare and maintain accounts receivable reports, including aging reports and summaries for management review.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records of all transactions, communications, and correspondence related to accounts receivable.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, as well as compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
Education: Grade 12; associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or a related role preferred.
Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and internal stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
